The car maker giant of the country, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) disclosed in a report that the company booked a 27.1 percent increase in total sales at 144,396 units in January as against 113,606 in the January 2016.
Maruti suzuki india said in a statement that the company’s domestic sales reached at 133,934 units, increased 25.9 percent from 106,383 in the year-ago period.

MSI said that 10.9 percent sales has jumped in the mini segment cars like WagonR and Alto to 37,928 units throughout the month under review as compared to 34,206 in the year-ago month.
The sales of the compact segment including Dzire, Swift, Ritz, Estilo and Baleno grew up by 25.2 percent to 55,817 units in the month of January 2017 as contrary to 44,575 in the same period during last year, the MSI further said.
The auto giant said its compact car Dzire Tour’s sales diminished by 15.3 percent to 3,001 units across the month. Mid-sized car Ciaz’s sales have increased by 20.2 percent during the month under review at 6,530 units.
Sales of compact SUV Vitara Brezza and utility vehicles such as Ertiga, Gypsy, S-Cross and Grand Vitara has rushed 101 percent to 16,313 units in January 2017, from 8,114 in the month of January 2016.
Sales of vans Eeco and Omni also increased by 34.9 percent to 14,179 units last month as compare to 10,512 units in the January last year.
MSI said that the exports also increased by 44.8 percent to 10,462 units this year as against 7,223 units in the January 2017.
