Amul hikes milk prices in Delhi, Gujarat by up to Rs 2/litre

Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) Managing Director R S Sodhi informed that the amul milk would bring its new price list into action from tomorrow in Ahmedabad and Saurashtra regions.

 

The brand name of dairy products, Amul would increase milk prices by up to Rs 2 per litre in two states Delhi and Gujarat as the production cost increases. As per the expectations, the step taken by the Amul will be followed by the other brands of milk as well. The new price hike in the products will be applicable from tomorrow. Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) Managing Director R S Sodhi informed that the amul milk would bring its new price list into action from tomorrow in Ahmedabad and Saurashtra regions. He also informed the media that the dairy major is also seeking for hike in price in Maharashtra region as well. The officer also justified the hike in price by saying that the last price hike was done 25 months ago in May 2014 and from that time the production cost has also increased by 20 percent and on the other hand inflation is up by 14 percent. The new prices of the products will be as Amul Gold milk will be available for Rs 50 per litre, while Amul Taaza, Shakti, and Trim and Slim will be available for Rs 38, Rs 46 and Rs 36 per litre, respectively, in Gujarat.
