As per reports of Deloitte Indywood Indian Film Industry, it is estimated that India film industry will reach USD 3.7 billion by 2020. As per realization of December 2015, the gross box office was approximately USD 2.1 billion.

If we talk about the revenue of industry, then the gross box office realization was near about USD 2.1 billion. However, analysts are expecting it to grow by 11 percent CAGR that will reach USD 3.7 billion by 2020.

As per the releasing quote, when compared to global counterparts it was found that gross realization of Indian Film Industry is substantially low despite of large number of film production.
It was also exposed that in US and Canada, box office realization stood at USD 11 billion last year, even when the lower number of films are produced in these countries.
Facts disclose that approximately 700 films are being produced in these countries.The domestic box office contributes large number of revenues. It contributes approximately 74 percent of the total industry.
Few fastest growing segments are Cable and satellite rights and online/digital aggregation revenues, which may grow at pace at 15 percent over the period Financial Year 2020.
Report also clarifies that Bollywood dominates the Indian film Industry, where the Hindi film industry contributes 43 percent of the revenue and rest regional films contributes.
