Commerce Ministry Organizes 60 Outreach Programmes On GST

For the members of trade and industry, the commerce ministry has planned over 60 outreach programmes since July. The program is based on the issues related to the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

19 August, 2017, MCR World – For the members of trade and industry, the commerce ministry has planned over 60 outreach programmes since July. The program is based on the issues related to the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

The commerce ministry has also established GST cells in all public sector undertakings. Some sectors are STC, MMTC, PEC and India Trade Promotion Organisation. These public sectors come under the ministry’s purview.

The senior official said that the entire objective to help this program is to distribute all information related to GST to all the stakeholders.

The  (DGFT) here and its different regional offices to have set up a GST facilitation cell apart from the state-run firms. They also held the program to resolve issues of exporters and importers.

The senior authorities are eager to attend the outreach programmes that are organized by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) to gather ample information. The different export promotion councils are also conducting such programmes.

In the last quarter of 2017, the increasing pressure on liquidity under GST has affected exports. From October onwards, the order booking position is not observed to be very promising.
