Today, Eicher Motors Along With Other Shares Dragged BSE Auto Index Down
Losses in shares of Eicher Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra and Bharat Forge dragged BSE Auto index down in Wednesday’s session.
Royal Enfield, the two-wheeler division of Eicher Motors, Monday reported a 2 per cent growth in total sales at 71,662 units in September.
M&M Monday reported 18 per cent decline in tractor sales at 37,581 units in September as against 45,788 units in the same month last year.
On the other hand, Mahindra and Mahindra reported a 2 per cent increase in total sales at 55,022 units in September.
The BSE Auto index was trading 1.61 per cent down at 21,291 around 12:50 pm.
Shares of Balkrishna Industries, Maruti Suzuki India, TVS Motor Company, Apollo Tyres and Motherson Sumi Systems were also trading in thenegative zone.
Bajaj Auto, MRF, Tata Motors, Bosch, Cummins India, Ashok Leyland and Exide Industries were in the green.
Domestic equity market was in negative zone amid weak global cues and rupee’s fresh fall against the US dollar. Other side, investors remained on the sidelines even as the RBI’s monetary policy committee (MPC) meet began to decide on key rates.
