This Way You Can Protect Your Vision – Eye Health Tips

July 28, 2018

Eyes are one of the most sensitive parts of our body that needs extra care and concern. In this busy world, we usually do not get time to take care of ourselves. So in this post, I decided to pen down some of the easy and basic habits that will protect your vision.

  1. Keep Screens at a Distance

This is one of the very basic rules that we people are not following these days. The contrast and the glare of an electronic screen can eventually lead to eyestrain and, in some cases, computer vision syndrome, which happens after prolonged use.

  1. Take Blinking Breaks

Ensure that you find a break in a day to blink and give some relaxing time to your precious eyes. We blink about 15 to 20 times in a minute in everyday life, but this rate of blinking eyes gets dropped when we are viewing text on a screen. Thus, you must ensure that you find time to blink as it is important because the upper eyelid spreads tears over the front of the eye, or cornea, just like a windshield wiper works.

  1. Wear Shades

Wearing shades will not just make you look funky but it will also protect your eyes from exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays that can deteriorate vision. UV rays can also cause cancerous growths on the eyes’ surface, eyelids, and surrounding skin.

  1. Go for the Greens

Eating green and leafy vegetables is one of the best ways you can take care of eyes as these are best source of vitamins. Carrots have a reputation as the go-to vegetable for healthy eyesight. If you lack vitamin A in your body then you will have weak eyesight. Carrots and green-leafy vegetables are best source of vitamin A.
