Sugar Stocks Traded Mixed On Thursday
During the Thursday’s trade, sugar stocks were trading mixed. This took place as the Centre announced a Rs 8,500 crore package to boost farmers’ income by creating a buffer stock for sugar. It has enhanced ethanol production capacity and also fixed a minimum selling price to cut mill losses.
The sugar stocks those were among the top gainers are Magadh Sugar, Monnet Project Developers, Riga Sugar Company and Dharani Sugars & Chemicals. On the other hand the top losers included Dhampure Specialty Sugars, Thiru Arooran Sugars, Ponni Sugars and Parvati Sweetners and Power, Indian Sucrose and Empee Sugars & Chemicals.
Some other gaining stocks of the day are K.M.Sugar Mills, Bannari Amman Sugars, KCP Sugar & Industries, Triveni Engineering & Industries, Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries and Uttam Sugar Mills.
At around 11:40 am, the NSE Nifty50 index was trading 101 points up at 10,785, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 331 points at 35509.
Out of 50 stocks of Nifty50, 40 stocks were up and 10 were down around that time. Vedanta, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank and Tata Steel were trading as the top gainers in the Nifty index.
