Story of Indore’s Sakht Boy– Zakir Khan
Zakir Khan, a reckoned name among the Indian stand-up comedian, is a writer and presenter as well. Zakir is not only known as best standup comedian but also known for his hard-working nature that has shown him this face in life. He is among the modest young Indians, who resolved to achieve a difficult dream. He never stops before he became a known and appreciated face among people.
Zakir Khan was born on the 20th of August, 1987 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Since his grandfather moved to Indore from Rajasthan, so their family got settled here. Zakir falls under the zodiac sign, Leo. His present age is 31.
He was born to Ismail Khan and Kulsum Khan. The bread earner of his family was his father, Ismail Khan, who was a music teacher at St. Raphael’s School, Indore. While, Kulsum Khan, Zakir’s mother is a homemaker. He has two brothers- Zeeshan Khan, who is the lead singer at Malang– a music band, and Arbaaz Khan, who is a student.
He not only has the ability to make people laugh, but he also knows to play Sitar well. He likes singing and composing songs.
In an interview, Zakir came up with his childhood stories and told that he was usually bullied for his appearance and complexion. He also went on saying that these incidents made him bold and humor became his shield.
Zakir holds a diploma certificate in Sitar.
Zakir moved to Delhi to chase his dreams. The journey till he got famous was not smooth. He struggled a lot but since he was hard working so he accomplished what he wanted.
When he came back to Delhi, he shared the room with Vishwas, and they lived like a family, sharing the money they earned to help each other. He built himself. It was amazing to see his growth chart going up like anything. He started to receive offer letters from all the companies that had rejected him before.
It was his roommate Vishwas, who encouraged him to do open mics in Delhi. This is how; Khan got the recognition and was reckoned name in the industry of standup comedian within just a year. He used to perform in cafes and people used to appreciate his jokes. Zakir rose to popularity when he won India’s best Standup Comedian competition organized by Comedy Central in 2012.
