Riding a Bike With Loud Silencer? – Government Might Seize Your Bike
Beware, if your bike is making lot of noise as the government and the traffic department can now seize your bike for thumping sound. These days, people are fond of modifying their silencers so that they can make thumping sound with it.
In order to control the noise pollution, the traffic department took this call of seizing the bikes of modified silencers. The environment Minister of Punjab, Om Prakash Soni has announced yesterday, that the two wheeler bikes with modified silencers causing noise pollution will be impounded.
India is a country where most young bikers opt for aftermarket silencers on motorcycles especially on Royal Enfield bikes to enhance the thumping sound from the bike. Modified silencers of different shapes and sizes installed on motorcycles especially Royal Enfield bikes have become a nuisance across the country, especially in Punjab.
Apart from the noise pollution, the enhanced thumping noise from these silencers also reduces the efficiency of the bike and is a big safety hazard. Bikes with loud noise are quite popular among youth and these bike enthusiasts often buy these after-market silencers for producing the enhanced sound effect. Royal Enfield is particularly quite popular among youth for its muscular body and loud sound.
