PM Modi Inaugurates Statue of Unity – Statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel
Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue, on Wednesday, was dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Kevadiya in Narmada district of Gujarat. The 182 metre statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was unveiled on his 143rd birth anniversary.
At the launch ceremony, the Prime Minister and other dignitaries poured soil and Narmada water into a Kalash to mark the dedication of the “Statue of Unity” to the nation. The Prime Minister pressed a lever to commence a “Virtual Abhishek” of the statue. On the occasion, the Prime Minister also addressed a gathering. PM Modi reached Gujarat on Tuesday night.
Sardar Patel was a patriot, who fought for a independent, united & secular India. A man with a steely will, tempered by compassion, he was a Congressman to the core, who had no tolerance for bigotry or communalism.
