On Friday GAIL and RIL Drop Over 2%

On Friday, large numbers of oil & gas stocks were trading with losses during afternoon trade. The BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 1.15 per cent down at 14,260 around 01:10 pm with GAIL and Reliance Industries as the top losers.

On the other side, Oil India and Indian Oil Corporation were trading with mild gains around the same time. Shares of BPCL, Castrol India, HPCL, ONGC, Petronet LNG and Indraprastha were also in the red.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 14 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 35 points at 10,531, while the BSE Sensex was 102 points down at 34,325.
YES Bank and State Bank of India, on the other hand, were the top losers in the Sensex index. Tata Consultancy Services, with a gain of over 6 per cent, was leading the pack of Sensex gainers.
