Novak Djokovic Defeated Roger Federer to Claim the Cincinnati Masters Title
Novak Djokovic defeated Roger Federer to win the Cincinnati Masters Title. The former world number 1 defeated the Swiss player by 6-4 6-4. He won this title for the first time in his International Tennis career. He made it to the finals in Cincinnati for five times in the past but lost all of them, three of which were lost to Roger Federer.
He had been injured for a long time and is now making a strong comeback. He had an elbow surgery. He was playing against Federer for the first time in over two-and-a-half years. He said that it was very special to win the Cincinnati Title for the first time. He was ranked world number 10 but is now set to climb up to the sixth spot in the list.
“Thank you for letting me win once in Cincinnati,” Djokovic said to Federer. He also said that Federer is probably the best player ever to play the game. Federer too praised Djokovic for his win.
In the women category Kiki Bertens defeated the world number 1 Simona Halep by a 2-6 7-6(6) 6-2 win.
