Nifty FMCG Index Rise While HUL Climbs 2%

On Wednesday, it was observed that the FMCG stocks Jubilant Foodworks went up at 2.32 per cent. It was also noted that the Hindustan Unilever was up 1.79 per cent. There are other stocks, those climbed up to 2 percent during the afternoon session on Wednesday. Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare was among those stocks giving a fillip to the sectoral index.

At around 1.40 pm, the Nifty FMCG index was trading 106 points, or 0.39 per cent, up at 27,210. Shares of United Spirits, Dabur India, United Breweries, Colgate-Palmolive and Britannia Industries were also trading with gains.

On the other side, the stocks those were in the red at same time were GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, Tata Global Beverages, Marico, Godrej Industries, ITC and Emami.

Equity benchmarks turned green backed by gains in metal, IT, FMCG and auto stocks. On Wednesday, the NSE Nifty50 index was up 12 points at 10,413, while the BSE Sensex was up 87 points at 33,967. Out of total 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Stocks those were leading the pack of gainers in the Nifty index, each rising over 2 per cent includes Vedanta, HCL Tech, Eicher Motors and Sun Pharma.
