New Santro Launched for Rs 3.89 Lakh in India
Today, Hyundai Motor India has launched its much talked about small car Santro at an aggressive price ex-showroom New Delhi. It attempts to make a strong comeback in the entry car segment.
By pricing it at an introductory price of Rs 3.89 lakh to Rs 5.45 lakh ex-showroom New Delhi for the first 50,000 customers for manual transmission,Rs 5.18 lakh to Rs 5.46 lakh for automated manual transmission variant, Rs 5.23 lakh to Rs 5.65 lakh for CNG, Hyundai will force competition to take notice and adjust prices for their entry car offerings accordingly.
Company has a plan to sell 10,000 units of Santro per month and is eyeing over 25% market share in the entry car segment.
Hyundai has already received bookings of over 23,500 units in the last couple of weeks since bookings were opened ahead of the festive season. Santro is already booked for three months production.
The compact car segment accounts for the half of Indian passenger vehicle market.
The MD of the company also went on saying that the entry car segment is the most important segment of the compact car market in India and we had a limited presence since 2014. The launch of the new Santro will help us in participating in this critical segment and help us grow our volumes.
