Mukesh Ambani to co-produce Aamir Khan’s dream project Mahabharata

The latest buzz is that Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan will start working on his dream project Mahabharata after completing Thugs of Hindostan. The film will be a series of 5 movies and expected to be made with Rs 1,000 crore. It will be one of the most expensive films to be ever made and will be on the lines of Hollywood’s The Lord of the Rings or the Game of Thrones in terms of the  production value, movie industry tracker Ramesh Bala tweeted.

According to Bala, the mega budget film will be co-produced by Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Entertainment Ltd.

The rumors got stronger when the actor, who was keen on co-producing ‘salute’ with Siddharth Roy Kapur, allegedly opted out of a biopic on astronaut Rakesh Sharma, to focus on his ambitious project.

While Secret Superstar promotions, Aamir had said, “My dream project is to make the Mahabharata, but I’m afraid of starting the project as I know it will consume at least 15-20 years of my life. My favorite character is Karna, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to play him due to my physique. I may just have to play Krishna. I also liked the character of Arjun. He was the only person who asked Krishna why he had to kill his own people.”

During the other event, he said, “My dream is to make the Mahabharata one day, which I have not yet achieved or I haven’t even moved towards it. It’s too scary as a dream, maybe that’s why. It’s a big dream and so let’s see if I can do it one day.”

Since there has been no official announcement, the rumors got stronger when the actor, who was keen on co-producing ‘salute’ with Siddharth Roy Kapur, allegedly opted out of a biopic on astronaut Rakesh Sharma, to focus on his ambitious project.

If we believe the latest report then Mukesh Ambani will co-produce the Mahabharata. Reliance boss Mukesh Ambani, who had only invested in in entertainment companies Eros and Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji, is ready to produce the film, but it is not yet cleared that he will get into full-fledged production with this massive project and in all probability it’s only a “one-off” project. We can expect that Ambani will bring a revolution in Bollywood like he brought in the telecom sector.
