Marathas on fire – Bandh call on 1st August
Marathas demanding a hike in reservation in the state services and education. This agitation is getting violent day to day in the Maharastra. Aurangabad being the epicenter of all the Quota demands and on the same time Satara, Pune, Nagpur and Latur are also being strategically important. This whole protect have create a chaos in the state which have disturbed the daily life badly in many places of Maharastra. Many local Maratha groups came up together for the protest against the government. As the latest development in a meeting held at Latur on Sunday, the Kranti Morcha committee gave the government two days to enforce a decision on Maratha reservation. The Marathas, who constitute 33 per cent of the state’s population, have been demanding 16 per cent quota in education and employment.
The Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis have been initiating dialogues with many different association leaders in the wake of increasing Law & Order in the state. Fadnavis personally met with the Sakal Maratha Organization, along with Maharashtra Swabhiman Party president and Rajya Sabha MP Narayan Rane, and gave them assurance that government’s commitments for the welfare if the Marathas will b fulfilled. But there is no clear stand being taken by the govt. on this particular demand of elevation in Maratha Quota in state.
