Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt to reunite after 21 years for Karan Johar’s Shiddat
Bollywood’s Khalnayak Sanjay Datt and Dhak Dhak girl Madhuri Dixit reunited after 21 long years for Johar’s production venture Shiddat. The cross-border period drama set in the 1940s had cast late actress Sridevi, whose character is now replaced with Madhuri Dixit. The film was marked to reunite Sridevi and Sanjay Datt after 25 years. Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor posted the picture of the duo and broke the news, “Abhishek Varman’s next film was very close to mom’s heart ….Dad, Khushi and I are thankful to Madhuriji for now being a part of this beautiful film….”
Now it will be excited to see the duo sharing the big screen after 21 years. They were last seen in Mahaanta in 1997. Back in 80s, they both together received immense love from the audience and their chemistry was praised in films like Saajan, Khalnayak, Thanedaar, Khatron Ke Khiladi, Ilaaka, Sahibaan, Kanoon Apna Apna and others. Along with Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur starring Shiddat is is being directed by Abhishek Varman who received the nomination Filmfare Award for Best Director for his first movie 2 States.
Currently, Sanjay Datt has projects like Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster 3, Torbaaz and Panipat. Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster 3 is expected to release in July whereas Ashutosh Gowariker’s period drama Panipat is scheduled to release on December 6, 2019. Alternatively, Madhuri Dixit has lined up projects like Bucket List which will be her Marathi debut film and Total Dhamaal which has stars Anil Kapoor and Ajay Devgn.
