“Kaala” of Rajinikanth Banned in Karnataka
Trouble for the superstar continues as the release date of movie “Kaala” is coming closer. Recently the actor has given a statement on the Cauvery dispute between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. For this reason the new movie of Rajinikanth “Kaala” is banned in Karnataka.
The statement of Superstar has hurt the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC). Thus they have decided not to allow screening of Kaala, due for release on June 7 in the state.
However, the Film Federation of India (FFI) requested the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC) to expedite its release in the state.
The President of FFI, Sakshi Mehra has asked SIFCC to let the movie release in Karnataka in the interest of the film industry.
The statement made by Rajnikanth was, “Let us not get into the technicalities of whether it is going to be an authority or a board. The court has given a clear ruling,” after the Supreme Court directed Karnataka to release 2 tmc ft of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu on May 3.
