Jasprit Bumrah Got Replaced by Shardul Thakur for England ODIs
Jasprit Bumrah had missed the T20I series because of his injury to his left thumb during India’s first T2OI against Ireland in Dublin. He underwent surgery on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in Leeds before returning to India. The surgery was successful and he will commence rehabilitation under the supervision of the BCCI Medical Team.
He is also knocked out of the 3-match ODI series against England. Shardul Thakur replaces the fast bowler of India. This was announced by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday.
The board of BCCI has called-up Shardul Thakur to replace Bumrah in the 16-man squad for the ODI series. The match will be starting from July 12. Shardul is medium pacer.
BCCI has released a statement saying that the All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Shardul Thakur as Jasprit Bumrah’s replacement in India’s ODI squad.
Earlier in the T20I squad, Deepak Chahar was called-up as replacement for Bumrah.
Currently, Jasprit Bumrah is the number one ranked bowler in ODIs.
It is believed that the absence of Jasprit will be a big loss for India Team. The substitute of Bumrah, has just played three ODIs, in which he has picked up 5 wickets.
We all will be missing Bumrah’s bowling in the death overs till he is back on field.
Bumrah is on top in the list of most number of wickets taken in death overs in ODIs.
