Irrfan Khan’s NeuroEndocrine Tumor Can Be Removed Surgically: Dr. Saumitra Rawat
After continuous speculation about his disease, Irrfan Khan took to Twitter to give updates to his fans and media about his health. He rubbished all the rumor about his disease and opened up about his disease that he has been diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Tumor. The 51-year-old actor stated that he is taking treatment and will stay away from the country and also made a promise to further update about his disease after 10 days.
It is a rare disease yet curable. Talking to ANI about the Neuroendocrine Tumor and medication, Dr. Saumitra Rawat, HOD, Surgical Gastroenterology & Liver Transplant, Sri Ganga Ram Hospital, said, “NeuroEndocrine Tumor is an abnormal growth of Neuroendo cells which are present in the bodies. When there is an abnormal growth, then it forms a tumor – Normally seen in intestine, pancreas, lung, thyroid and other parts of the body. Depending on where the tumor is localized, you can take it out surgically and the chances of cure are very high”.
Vinit Suri, Senior Consultant, Neurology, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals explains, “early detection can lead to cure by excising the tumor or giving appropriate therapy.”
It has been clear that the tumor can be taken out surgically, but depends on the size, location and after that proper care and regular checkups are required. But it is not clear that which stage of tumor Irrfan is suffering.
Talking about his project, Irrfan Khan’s Blackmail is ready to hit screens. His next movie is expected to canceled that is based on mafia queen Sapna Didi, which will be played by Deepika Padukone. He is not working on Hollywood projects now. Now we can hope that we hear good news about his health when he give us next update on health.
