FMCG Stocks Were On an Upward Trajectory during Afternoon Trade
On Friday, during the afternoon trade, it was observed that most the FMCG stocks were on an upward trajectory. On Friday, the list of stocks those were trading upward included Emami, Godrej Industries, Hindustan Unilever, United Breweries and ITC.
At around 02:30 pm, the Nifty FMCG index was trading 1.55 per cent up at 28,851 level.
Some other stocks, those were among the list of gainers are Colgate-Palmolive, Tata Global Beverages, Godrej Consumer Products, United Spirits, Dabur India, Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare, Jubilant Foodworks and Britannia Industries.
However, the list of stocks those were suffering losses at that time are GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare and Marico. Equity benchmarks were treading higher on across the board buying amid positive global cues.
It is believed that the fresh buying by investors as the July derivatives contracts started on a strong note amid recovery in the rupee boosted sentiment. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 109 points at 10,698, while the BSE Sensex was up 334 points at 35,372. Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red. GAIL, Hindalco, Bajaj Auto and Tata Steel were leading among the Nifty gainers.
