Find How Your Poor Sleep Is Linked To Heart

October 5, 2018

We know that having proper sleep helps us in many ways. Did you know that even one poor sleep of single day can be dangerous for heart? Interrupted sleep is bad news for health. As per new study, even one night of poor sleep can derail your health – putting your heart at risk. This can lead to an increased heart rate and blood pressure; and increased levels of stress hormones.

If you take proper night sleep then you aid your body in repairing itself through many mechanisms. When we are sleeping, there is a burst of important hormones required for growth, better immune function, metabolism, brain function and heart health. This is why we wake up fresh, energetic and raring to go after a restful night.

If you are going through a period of short-term sleep deficiency, then participants showed a significant increase in:

  • Blood pressure and heart rate
  • The levels of hormones like thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), thyroid hormones FT3 and FT4, and cortisol.
