Congress May Join Hands with JD to Outpace from BJP
Reports emerged that the Congress has joined hands with the JD in Karnataka to deny the BJP power. Reliable sources have informed that that the Congress has offered to make HD Kumaraswamy chief minister of Karnataka. Trends and leads from the state put Congress-JD combine having more seats than the half way mark. Their joint numbers were also more than that of the BJP.
Mamata Banerjee also stated that the outcome of the Karnataka Assembly elections would have been different if the Congress had got into an alliance with the Janata Dal.
So far BJP won 108 seats and is leading in 81 seats while the Congress has won four seats and is leading in 73.
Changing political scenario also impacted the movement of Indian rupee. The currency, which was trading almost flat in the late morning trade after opening around 16 paise down at 67.27 against dollar, again plunged 37 paise down to 67.88 against the American currency in the afternoon trade.
