Call of Bihar Bandh: CM is Asked to Resign on the Matter of Muzaffarpur Shelter Sexual Abuse
The state of Bihar is going to witness a mass protest and bandh by the opposition in the wake of the mass sexual abuse of minor girls took place in the Muzaffarpur shelter. The opposition is calling that the whole exploitation is sponsored by the CM Nitish Kumar so he should resign from his office. This whole matter came out after a report given to the state government by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). The report claimed sexual exploitation of minors at the shelter homes in the state.
On this Supreme courts has sent a notice to the Bihar Government to ban the media publishing the morphed images of the victims not even by blurring the faces and at the same time media should not get into the direct interaction with the victims. On this the state government has lodged cases against some the shelter homes. Later on the CBI came into the picture, the state recommended a CBI probe against the NGO Seva Sankalp Evam Vikas Samiti who ran a shelter home where 29 out of 34 minors were sexually abused. The prime accused with 10 others have been arrested in the case so far.
