AAP’s Top Leader Ashutosh Resigns from the Party
Aam Aadmi Party leader Ashutosh has resigned from the party today morning. He is a former journalist and was the managing director of IBN7 till 2014 before joining the party in the same year. He said that he was resigning due to his personal reason.
There was an ongoing stress between him and the party after the party decided against nominating him to Rajya Sabha. After that he distanced himself from the party.
He thanked the party and volunteers for all the support that he got while he was in the party on his twitter handle. He said that he is currently working on his new book which is likely to be launched in October this year.
The announcement of him joining the party was made by Arvind Kejriwal and party leader Sanjay Shukla in 2014. He was then accused of being an opportunist for joining the party as the party at that time was in limelight. Defending himself he said that he had many chances of joining various political parties in 23 years as he was a journalist and had ties to many political parties but he didn’t. He unsuccessfully contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Delhi’s Chandni Chowk constituency.
